Useful local guides
Make more of your local library
Find a branch and ask about books, study and programmes.
Find the right branch
Search the directory for Libraries and your town. Each branch entry links to the City’s library information. Check the branch’s current status: a general hours table may remain visible even when a particular branch is closed.
Ask about membership
Contact the branch about registration documents, borrowing rules and any charges before you go. Ask about the books, study spaces, computers or children’s programmes you need; facilities and sessions can vary.
Plan your visit
Confirm that day’s opening hours, the entrance and available transport. Take the documents the branch requests and allow time to ask the staff how borrowing and returns work. For a programme, confirm the date, age range and booking requirements separately.
