Useful local guides
Find a photography club
Meet people who enjoy seeing the world through a lens.
Find your nearest club
The community directory includes photographic clubs in Benoni, Boksburg, Edenvale and Springs. The national photographic society’s directory is useful for locating the club’s current contact route.
Visit before buying equipment
Ask whether visitors can attend, whether a phone camera is welcome, how image evenings work and whether beginners receive feedback. Confirm the next meeting venue and any visitor charge. You do not need to buy new equipment just to ask about joining.
Prepare one small project
Bring a few images you are comfortable sharing and a question you would like help with. Ask before photographing people or posting their images. Keep your own files backed up and check the club’s image submission rules.
